What People's Say About Place

What a fabulous gem in the town of Alfred!! My daughter and I are here our first night in town when we came to move her to college. The coconut shrimp and orange ginger salmon and sweet potato hash were amazing, and the service was fabulous! Highly recommended! We will decibel be back!

My boyfriend and I always love coming here, great food! Always an enjoyable experience, kind workers and everything always tastes great and never have to wait long either.

Brisket, pulled pork and wings were absurdly delicious. Best brisket I've had by far and the wings were possibly the best as well. Bbq sauces were creative and delicious. However, there wasn't enough food to justify the price. I got the biggest plate I could buy, and still went through it in just a few minutes. I even had to get more food elsewhere afterwards. I really wanted to get more food from The Checkpoint, but it would have costed a small fortune to fill me up. Amazing food, but not worth the trip unless you're not that hungry.

Great food at very good prices. As a student I was able to afford to eat here which being a college town matters. As an alumni it's cheap good eats. Excellent tacos. Flavorful sauce. They have Mexican street corn as a side which is a must have! Super worth the stop . Honestly haven't been around a lot more this is definitely in the upper echelon of BBQ places. They do brisket right, fat is rendered nicely. Solid smoke ring. Exactly what you want. Pulled pork is moist and loaded with flavor that will make you want to come back for more. The carnitas on the tacos are banging. Best Mexican street style tacos I've had since coming back from California.

Had their street corn that was delicious. I also tried a new sandwich that was on special but I hope it stays permanent called the knuckle sandwich. The knuckle sandwich was delicious as well. I would definitely go here again.

First time going, and I gota say it's not some place I'd usually go to. The food was great though, a bit hard to understand as first timer so I just picked something that that seemed not to bad. Some of the food may take some time to get used to since the spices and sauce used are a bit strong. But I would definitely come back and try out some of the other stuff. But overall it was a pleasant experience. And the person at the register was a pretty nice guy, so that's always a plus
